Once upon a time, in a cozy little town, there was a girl named Andrea with curly brown hair.

Andrea loved to play in her sunny backyard, but sometimes she wished for a playmate.

One day, Andrea heard a giggle from behind the bushes. She peeked and saw a puppy with a wagging tail.

The puppy had no collar. 'Do you want to play with me?' Andrea asked. The puppy barked happily in reply.

They played fetch, ran races, and even tried a tug-of-war with an old sock.

As the sun began to set, Andrea realized the puppy might be lost and needed a home.

Andrea decided to ask her parents if they could help. 'There's a puppy outside, and I think it's lost,' she said.

Her parents agreed to take in the puppy for the night. 'We can look for its owner tomorrow,' they promised.

That night, Andrea and the puppy curled up in her bed, both feeling happy and safe.

The next day, they put up flyers and knocked on neighbors' doors, but no one claimed the puppy.

After days with no response, Andrea's parents said, 'The puppy seems to love you. Would you like to keep him?'

Andrea hugged the puppy, overjoyed. 'Yes! And I'll name you Buddy, my new playmate!'
