Anna had never seen so many animals! She was at the zoo, her eyes wide with wonder.
She saw the zebras first. They were galloping like the wind. Anna giggled, delighted.
Next were the lions. They lay under the sun, almost like big cats. Anna whispered, 'They look so cozy!'
Anna then heard chirping. It came from the parrots, their feathers a rainbow of colors.
The monkeys were swinging, playing tag. Anna imagined joining their game and laughed.
At the aquarium, fish glided silently. 'They dance like the stars,' Anna mused.
Then she saw an elephant, all alone. 'Why isn't he playing?' Anna asked, concerned.
Mom explained, 'He's old and likes quiet. But see how the keepers care for him?'
Anna noticed the elephant had food, water, and toys. 'He’s being looked after!' she exclaimed.
She saw a keeper pat the elephant gently. The elephant seemed to smile. Anna felt happy.
It was time to leave. 'Can we come back?' Anna asked. 'The animals and I are friends now!'
On the way home, Anna talked about the animals. She understood they had feelings too.
