Splash! The sound of water was the first thing Ansley heard. She was at the school pool in her uniform, trying to change into her swimsuit. But as she searched her bag, she realized she'd forgotten it at home.
Frustrated, Ansley stepped out of the bathroom. But something was odd. The pool had vanished and instead she stood in a grand hall filled with girls in gowns.
Confused, Ansley noticed a pink princess dress in her hands. She hurriedly put it on. The dress was beautiful, with sparkles that shimmered as she moved.
With her dress on, she climbed the stairs, hearing the chatter of many voices. Ansley reached a table lined with delicious treats.
She grabbed a cake shaped like a taco. But as she took a bite, she froze. The 'cake' was actually a glitter-covered children's book!
The kindergarten teacher glared at her. 'Why would you eat a book?' she exclaimed. Ansley's cheeks burned with embarrassment.
Mortified, Ansley hurried back downstairs. She needed to find her friends. As she reached them, a bizarre thought struck her – was she dreaming?
Suddenly, she knew she could control the dream. To prove it, she focused, and to everyone's shock, a car outside began to float in the air.
But then, flames erupted from the house. Screams echoed as everyone ran for safety, desperately trying to escape the sudden blaze.
Outside, a neighbor hurried to help, but as she parked her car, it too caught fire, along with her house. The fire was spreading uncontrollably.
Ansley stood amidst the chaos, realizing she had the power to change the dream. With a wave of her hand, the fires extinguished, and all was calm.
Her friends gathered around, amazed. They finally believed Ansley's claim about the dream. Together, they laughed, relieved that the nightmare was over.
