Early morning shined on Baxter, a little golden retriever with a wagging tail. Today was special.
Baxter watched kids with backpacks. His own little pack lay on the floor, ready for school.
Mom said, 'Remember, it's your first day. You'll make friends and learn new games.'
Buster, his older brother, barked, 'Listen to the teacher, and wait your turn!'
At Puppy School, Baxter saw many tails. Some wagged fast; others didn't wag at all.
Ms. Paws, the collie teacher, welcomed everyone. 'Let's start with a fun roll-call!'
Baxter's name was called. 'Here!' he yipped. The others took their time to respond.
Next was playtime! Baxter grabbed a ball too quickly. 'Who wants this one?' he asked.
Some puppies growled, wanting a turn. Baxter felt sorry. 'Let's share it,' he suggested.
Snack-time was tricky. Hungry pups rushed the bowl, but Baxter hung back, watching.
Ms. Paws smiled. 'Good, Baxter. Everyone will get their turn for biscuits.'
The day ended with a happy, tired Baxter. 'School is fun if you wait for your snacks and friends.'
