Bonnie Bunny woke up with a hop and a skip, her floppy ears all in a flip and a trip! Today’s the big day, to school she would go, with her brand new backpack and a bow just so!
Mama Bunny said, 'Oh, Bonnie, don’t be fraught, new friends and learning, together they’re sought!' Bonnie giggled and wiggled, not a bit afraid, 'It’s an adventure!' is what she proudly said.
With a jump, skip, and bound, Bonnie was off, to a place that sounded like a happy coo-coo-cough! School was near, colorful and bright, and butterflies in her belly felt just right.
The classroom was buzzing like bees in a hive, with children and critters, oh, it was alive! Miss Appleton Hedgehog, the teacher so wise, welcomed them all with a twinkle in her eyes.
Bonnie met Sammy Squirrel, helpful and bright, and Lucy the Ladybug, a colorful sight! They played and learned letters, A, B, and C, 'Learning is fun!' buzzed Bonnie with glee.
Lunch was a picnic with sandwiches and fruit, with juice like the rainbow, nothing could this dispute. 'Look at this apple!' squeaked tiny Tim Mouse, 'Healthy and crunchy, it’s food for my house!'
In the art room, they painted skies of blue, with glitter and sparkles, and unicorns too! Bonnie’s picture was a castle so grand; Miss Appleton said, 'You have magic in your hand!'
Recess was full of laughter and games, hopscotch and tag, and dragons with names. Bonnie roared and soared like dragons who flew, 'This is amazing, a dream come true!'
The day ended with stories in a cozy nook, where everyone sat quietly, to listen and look. Miss Appleton read with voices so varied, tales of brave heroes and places none tarried.
As the bell rang to end the day, Bonnie felt happy in every fun way. 'Goodbye, friends! See you tomorrow!' she said with a cheer; it was a perfect start to a new school year.
Mama Bunny waited with a hug so tight, 'How was your day, my little delight?' Bonnie beamed with joy, 'It was the best day yet, with new friends, stories, and fun I’ll never forget!'
