One day, Ravan heard tales of a beautiful princess named Sita, the wife of Lord Rama. Her beauty was said to rival that of the heavens, and Ravan's curiosity was piqued. Determined to possess her, he devised a cunning plan. Disguised as a holy sage, Ravan approached Sita and asked for alms. Unbeknownst to her, he had already fallen under her enchanting spell.
But Sita, being a virtuous and loyal wife, saw through Ravan's disguise. She refused to give him anything and instead prayed for her husband's safe return. Ravan's ego was wounded, and his desire for Sita grew stronger. He decided to abduct her and bring her to Lanka, where he believed she would willingly become his queen.
Ravan, with his ten heads, commanded his army of demons to capture Sita. They swooped down upon Lord Rama's kingdom, causing chaos and destruction. Rama, a valiant warrior, fought fiercely to protect his beloved wife. The battle between good and evil raged on, with Ravan's cunning strategies testing Rama's patience and strength.
They journeyed near and far, watching planets and stars pass by. 'There must be a secret to the moon’s light,' Rahu theorized, hopeful and bright-eyed.
One night, they met Luna, an old asteroid. 'The secret,' Luna whispered, 'is in sharing your light, not in chasing it.' Rahu wasn't sure what she meant.
In his final moments, Ravan realized the folly of his ways. He had let his desires and ego consume him, leading to his downfall. As he took his last breath, he acknowledged Rama's righteousness and begged for forgiveness. Rama, being a compassionate soul, granted him salvation, freeing him from the cycle of rebirth.
Rahu blushed with surprise. 'Could it be that I had my own light all along?' he wondered. He looked at his reflection in a passing satellite and for the first time, saw his true brightness.
With each planet they helped and every comet they cheered on, Rahu’s luminosity grew. He was learning the joy in illuminating others’ paths.
Finally, they approached the moon, the source of Rahu's envy. 'I've realized something,' Rahu whispered to the moon. 'It's not your reflection that I wanted, but to find my own.'
The moon smiled in her own way. 'You have a wonderful glow, dear Rahu. You've been shining by giving,' the moon said. Rahu beamed with pride and happiness.
Now, every time we look up at the night sky, we see Rahu shining brightly. He learned that the key to his light was in sharing it all along.
