Once upon a time, in a big city in Brazil, there were two awesome teenagers named Cristian and Dandara. They were super proud of their curly black hair and beautiful brown skin, and they loved all the cool things their family taught them about their African heritage.
One day, at their school, they saw a kid named Maria Cecilia being treated meanly because of her beautiful brown skin. It made Cristian and Dandara really sad. They wanted to do something to help their friend.
When Cristian and Dandara told their teacher and their mom about what happened, they all decided to talk about a special day called 'Consciência Negra' (Black Awareness Day). They learned about Zumbi dos Palmares, a brave hero who fought to free people from slavery.
The more they learned about the brave people who fought for freedom, the more Cristian, Dandara, and Maria Cecilia felt strong and proud. They talked about how everyone is special and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, no matter what they look like.
On 'Consciência Negra' Day, Cristian, Dandara, and Maria Cecilia wore beautiful clothes and celebrated their culture with their family and friends. They danced, sang, and shared delicious food. They felt so happy and loved.
From then on, Cristian, Dandara, and Maria Cecilia made a plan to stand up against anyone who was mean to others because of how they looked. They knew that together, they could make the world a kinder and happier place for everyone!
