Once upon a time, there were two best friends named Elsie and Charlie. They loved telling jokes to each other and making each other laugh. Every night before bedtime, they would take turns telling funny jokes. Tonight was no different. Elsie started off, 'Why did the chicken go to the seance?' Charlie thought for a moment and then laughed, 'I don't know, why?' Elsie replied, 'To talk to the other side!' They both burst into laughter and couldn't stop giggling.

Charlie then took his turn, 'Why don't scientists trust atoms?' Elsie giggled and said, 'I don't know, why?' Charlie grinned and said, 'Because they make up everything!' Elsie laughed so hard that she had tears in her eyes. They had so much fun sharing jokes with each other.

As they continued taking turns, Elsie asked, 'Why did the tomato turn red?' Charlie thought for a moment and said, 'Hmm, I'm not sure. Why did it?' Elsie replied with a mischievous smile, 'Because it saw the salad dressing!' They both burst into laughter and couldn't stop laughing.

Charlie then told his joke, 'What do you call a bear with no teeth?' Elsie looked puzzled and asked, 'What do you call it?' Charlie chuckled and said, 'A gummy bear!' Elsie cracked up and said, 'That's a good one, Charlie!' They were having the best time telling jokes and making each other laugh.

After a while, Elsie asked, 'Why did the scarecrow win an award?' Charlie thought for a moment and then shouted, 'I know this one! Because he was outstanding in his field!' Elsie cheered and said, 'Yes, Charlie! You got it right! They both laughed and high-fived each other.

As the night went on, they couldn't get enough of each other's jokes. They laughed so much that their cheeks hurt. Finally, they laughed themselves to sleep, still smiling and happy. And so, Elsie and Charlie continued to tell each other funny jokes every night, making sure to end their day with laughter and joy.
