Once upon a time, Harry Potter woke up on a big day. Today, he was heading to a school called Hogwarts. He felt jittery inside but also really happy.
He got dressed in his new robes. They were black and soft. 'You look great!' said his friend Ron. Harry blushed but felt proud.
The train to school was called the Hogwarts Express. It was bright red. It hissed steam in the cool air as children laughed and waved goodbye.
Harry sat with Ron and Hermione on the train. They talked about magic and spells. Harry's heart raced with every new word they said.
The castle was huge! Towers reached the sky. 'Wow!' gasped Harry. 'Hogwarts is amazing!' Ron and Hermione nodded, their eyes wide.
At the feast, plates filled with food appeared. Harry tasted chicken, pies, and cakes. He felt warm and full inside.
Professor McGonagall called out names. 'When she calls you, a hat will pick your house,' whispered Hermione. Harry nodded, feeling a flutter in his tummy.
The hat shouted, 'Gryffindor!' when on Harry's head. The Gryffindor table cheered. Harry smiled, walking over to his new friends.
Ghosts floated around making jokes. A nearly headless ghost said hello. Harry laughed. This place was fun and a bit scary.
Harry's dorm room had a soft bed and a window that looked out at stars. He whispered, 'Goodnight,' to his roommates and closed his eyes, dreaming of magic.
In the morning, Harry had his first class. 'Welcome to Potions,' said Professor Snape. His voice was cold but Harry was ready to learn.
His potion turned blue and bubbled. Hermione's did too. They shared a grin. Harry felt happy. School was going to be fun!
