Once upon a time, in a bright and buzzling jungle, lived a small, cheeky creature named Hugo. He had soft fur, a great big smile, and loved nothing more than playing jokes on his friends. Today, he had planned a very special surprise for his best pal, Bastian the elephant.

Bastian, with his big flappy ears and even bigger heart, was having his morning splash near the waterfall. Hugo, with a giggle, sneaked behind a rock, clutching a bunch of bananas. 'Ready for some fun?' thought Hugo, as he tossed a banana peel right where Bastian would step!

Thump! Bastian slipped on the peel and slid into the water with a gigantic splash! As he came up, sputtering and laughing, Hugo danced around the edge. 'Got you!' he proclaimed. Bastian chuckled, 'Hugo, you little rascal, watch out, I'll get you back!' And the chase was on.

Through the jungle they ran, Hugo zigzagging between trees and Bastian trumpeting joyfully behind him. They found a muddy pit and without a second thought, splashed right in. The mud made silly squelching noises under their feet, and they laughed until their bellies hurt.

As they played, a rainbow of birds flew above, singing and swooping. 'Let's play hide and seek,' Hugo said with a twinkle in his eye. Bastian counted loudly, 'One, two, three...' and Hugo darted off to find the best hiding spot in the whole jungle.

Hugo found a great spot inside a hollow log and waited. Bastian walked past several times, pretending not to see him. On the fifth pass, with a 'boo!', Bastian lifted the log, revealing a giggling Hugo. 'Found you!' bellowed Bastian, as Hugo jumped up shouting, 'You're the best seeker ever!'

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, the two friends sat side by side on a hill. 'What a great day, Hugo!' Bastian smiled. 'Every day is great with you, Bastian!' Hugo said. And as the stars began to twinkle, they fell asleep, dreaming of tomorrow's adventures.
