Once upon a time, on a small farm, there lived a young boy named Jack with his mother. They were very poor and had to sell their old cow.
Jack's mother told him to take the cow to the market and sell her for some money. Jack nodded and started off on the little path.
On the way to the market, Jack met an old man. 'I'll trade you magic beans for your cow,' the man offered.
Jack's eyes grew wide and he felt excited. 'Magic beans?' he questioned as the man held out five shiny beans.
Jack made the trade and rushed back home. His mother was shocked. 'Magic beans?' she cried out, throwing them out the window.
The next morning, Jack saw a giant beanstalk reaching to the sky. He decided to climb it, wondering what he would find.
Up and up he climbed, until he found a castle in the clouds. A golden harp played lovely music all around the castle.
Inside the castle, Jack spotted a hen laying golden eggs. 'These could help Mum and me,' he thought, feeling hopeful.
Suddenly, the ground shook. A giant thundered in the room and Jack hid. The giant yawned, 'I am so sleepy,' and dozed off.
Jack snatched the hen and began to tiptoe out. The harp cried out, waking the giant who roared angrily and chased after Jack.
Jack hurried down the beanstalk with the giant close behind. He yelled to his mother to get an axe.
With great big swings, mother and son cut down the beanstalk right as the giant came down, saving their farm and future.
