Lila the little lamb loved to leap and play, but at bedtime, she liked to hear Mama sheep say, 'Let's read the Bible, my dear, it's full of wisdom we hold near.'
As the story of Noah's ark started to flow, Lila's ears perked up, ready to know. 'The animals listened and followed the cue, Noah's good listening saved them, it's true!'
With wide eyes, Lila learned about David and Goliath, how good listening helped David's aim be just right. 'He listened to God and aimed with all might, his slingshot flew true, oh what a sight!'
Now the story of Jonah was delightfully fun, Lila giggled as Mama said, 'Jonah, good listening brought you back in the sun!' 'He listened to God, from the belly of a whale, good listening saved him, without fail.'
At the end of the tales, in a sweet lullaby, Mama sheep softly sings, 'Listen to God's words, little one, and you'll grow up wise, just like the sun.'
