Lily clutched her mom's hand tightly as they walked to the big yellow building. Today was special.
The halls smelled of paint and the sounds of laughter echoed through the air.
Lily's mom knelt down, gave her a hug, and whispered, 'You'll do great, sweetie.'
As her mom left, Lily took a deep breath and noticed her classroom door open.
Inside, Mrs. Maple greeted her with a warm smile. 'Welcome, Lily! Come find a seat.'
The room was full of colorful posters. Kids were playing with blocks and reading books.
Lily spotted an empty chair next to a girl with bright red hair and walked over.
The girl looked up. 'Hi, I'm Emma. Want to build a tower with me?'
Lily nodded and they started stacking blocks, each one higher than the last.
Their tower became the tallest in the room, and they high-fived, proud of their work.
When it was time for a story, Lily raised her hand to answer questions.
At the end of the day, Lily didn't want to leave. She waved goodbye to her new friend.
