Little Dom was a dreamer. Not a sleepy dreamer, no, but a wide-awake, eyes-open kind of dreamer! And what did he dream about? SPACE! He dreamt of zipping rockets, twinkling stars, and planets of purple and green.
One day, Dom was building a rocket ship in his room. "It's not a dream!" he declared. "It's going to be REAL!"
Just then, a BANG echoed through the room. Dom's pet goldfish, Bubbles, leaped from his bowl. "Did you say...SPACE?" Bubbles sputtered, landing with a plop on a stack of moon maps.
"Bubbles, you can talk?" Dom gasped. "And you want to go to space?"
"Of course, I can talk! And of course, I want to go to space!" Bubbles huffed, adjusting his tiny astronaut helmet. "Now, are you coming, or are you swimming?"
Dom laughed. He knew right then and there that this was going to be an amazing adventure. He hopped into the rocket beside Bubbles, and with a WHOOSH and a ZOOM, they blasted off!
They zoomed past planets shaped like ice cream cones and danced around stars that twinkled like disco balls. It was a space party, and Dom and Bubbles were the guests of honor.
Suddenly, a voice boomed, "And now, it's time for...the GREAT SPACE RACE!"
"A race?" Dom asked, his eyes wide. Bubbles rubbed his fins together excitedly. "Let's do it!"
Off they went, zooming past giggling aliens and dodging mischievous comets. Dom laughed, steering with all his might. "We can do it, Bubbles!"
The finish line, a giant lollipop, shimmered in the distance. Dom pushed a button, and the rocket shot forward like a shooting star!"
They crossed the finish line just a nose ahead of a grumpy-looking moon with feet. "We did it!" Dom and Bubbles shouted, giving each other a giant, space-sized high five.
As they flew back home, past the ice cream cone planets and disco ball stars, Dom knew he would never forget his Great Space Race with his best friend, Bubbles.
And so, Little Dom continued to dream, his heart full of space dust and the memory of his extraordinary adventure.
