Little Red Riding Hood and the Importance of Listening

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. She loved wearing a bright red hood and always carried a basket of goodies for her granny. One day, her mom asked her to take some food to her sick grandmother, who lived in a cottage in the woods. 'Remember, Little Red,' her mom said, 'you must stay on the path and not talk to strangers.' 'I will, Mom,' Little Red promised.

As Little Red walked through the woods, she noticed beautiful flowers and curious animals. Suddenly, a sly wolf appeared. 'Good day, Little Red Riding Hood,' the wolf said with a smile. 'Where are you going?' Remembering her mom's warning, Little Red politely replied, 'I'm taking food to my grandmother who is sick.' The wolf, hoping for a tasty meal, quickly devised a plan.

The wolf asked Little Red about her grandmother's cottage and pretended to be interested. But Little Red listened to her mom's advice and only told him the bare minimum. Sensing that she was a clever little girl, the wolf hurried along the path and reached Granny's cottage before her.

When the wolf arrived, he knocked on the door and tried to trick Granny. 'Who is it?' asked Granny. 'It's me, Little Red Riding Hood,' replied the wolf, disguising his deep voice. Granny, who wasn't feeling well, replied, 'Pull the latch and come in, my dear.' The wolf burst into the cottage, scaring Granny.

Meanwhile, Little Red reached Granny's cottage and became worried when she saw the door ajar. Quietly, she entered and found the wolf pretending to be Granny. Little Red noticed something strange but didn't speak immediately. Instead, she thoughtfully observed Granny's voice, eyes, and big ears. Finally, she asked, 'Granny, why do you have such big teeth?'. 'The better to eat you with!' growled the wolf, leaping towards her.

In that moment, a woodsman passing by heard the commotion, rushed inside, and saved Little Red. The wolf, frightened, ran away. The woodsman explained that he had heard everything because Little Red had spoken with Granny's voice, not the wolf's voice. Little Red had been listening carefully. From that day on, Little Red promised to listen even more and always be aware of her surroundings.
