Once upon a time, Maddie and Cade sat in bed. It was night.
They heard a tap at the window. Tap, tap. Who could it be?
A small owl blinked at them. 'Come, follow me!' it hooted softly.
They put on capes. They zipped past trees, under the big moon.
The owl led them to a river. A boat bobbed by the bank.
The twins got in the boat. It glided without a sound.
Fish jumped. 'Wow!' said Maddie. 'Look!' Cade pointed to stars.
The boat stopped. A path of stones led to a hidden cave.
Inside, crystals shone. They found treasure, but took just one shell.
They gave the shell to the owl. 'For you!' they chimed together.
The owl winked. 'Your gift is friendship,' it whispered before flying away.
Back in bed, they held the shell. They smiled, feeling brave and happy.
