Last summer, I went on a vacation to the seaside with my family. It was a cheap holiday, so we had to be careful with our spending. The place we stayed in was a small cottage right by the beach. The cottage was cozy and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The first thing we did was go for a swim in the cool, refreshing water. The waves were perfect for bodyboarding, so my sister and I spent hours riding them. It was so much fun!
During our vacation, we also went on long walks along the shore. The beach stretched for miles, and we would collect seashells as we strolled. We even found a sand dollar, which was a rare treasure! In the evenings, we would have bonfires on the beach and roast marshmallows. The sky was filled with stars, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was so peaceful.
We also tried our hand at fishing. My dad had brought along his fishing gear, and we set up a little spot by the pier. It took some patience, but eventually, we caught a few fish. We cooked them for dinner, and they tasted amazing! It was so satisfying to eat something we had caught ourselves. We had simple meals during our vacation, mostly sandwiches and homemade snacks, but everything tasted delicious by the sea.
One day, we decided to explore the nearby town. It was a quaint little place with colorful houses and shops selling handmade crafts. We bought souvenirs to bring back home and even tried some local ice cream. It was the best ice cream I've ever had! We also visited a nearby lighthouse and climbed to the top for a stunning view of the coast.
Even though we didn't have a lot of money to spend, our vacation at the seaside was one of the best I've ever had. It taught me that you don't need fancy things to have a great time. Being surrounded by nature and spending time with loved ones is what truly matters. I still cherish the memories of that vacation and can't wait to go back to the seaside again someday.
