In a land high above, where the skies are so blue, lived Nontok the cleaner, who scrubbed every shoe.
From dawn till dusk, he washed without pause, scrubbing the feet of all the divine in gauze.
The gods, they were playful, they'd giggle and jest, they'd pluck at poor Nontok in fun-loving zest.
Nontok grew tired, with his hair pulled and torn. He wished for a change, for peace, he did yearn.
Crossing the clouds, he met a great lord, to ask for a gift, a magic reward.
“Oh mighty Ishvara, grant me a boon, a diamond finger, as bright as the moon!”
With his new gift, Nontok returned, seeking redress for how he’d been spurned.
Zap! went his finger, with power so true, the gods were astonished and didn't know what to do!
He chased them all round, from dusk until dawn, until none remained, for now they were gone.
Finally in peace, he sat with a sigh, but his heart felt heavy, and he started to cry.
For power and might aren't always the best, what's needed is love, and care, and some rest.
So Nontok went back to his humble chores, but this time with joy, and friendship, and more.
