On the night before Christmas, in a house snug and tight, There was a curious dog named Sparky, bathed in soft firelight. He wagged his tail and barked with delight, As he heard a noise from the roof, so clear and bright.
He jumped up and ran to the window so fast, And what he saw there made his little heart blast! It was jolly old Santa Claus, with his sleigh and reindeer, Bringing presents for children, far and near.
Sparky couldn't believe what was happening right before his eyes, He barked and barked, making Santa look up to the skies. Santa laughed with a twinkle in his eye so merry, As he landed his sleigh and came down in a flurry.
He patted Sparky's head and said, "You're a good little pup! Now, tell me, which present will make you jump and hiccup?" Sparky wagged his tail and pointed with his nose, Santa picked a bone-shaped toy that Sparky chose.
Santa disappeared up the chimney with a grin, Sparky watched him go, his heart filled to the brim. He lay down by the fire, with his new toy in his paw, Dreaming of Santa and Christmas, with a wag of his jaw.
