Once upon a time, in a cupboard under the stairs, lived a boy named Harry Potter. He felt crushingly lonely.
Harry had no friends at the Dursleys'. They were mean, but he wished for kindness.
One rainy day, Harry sat with his toy owl, whispering of adventures they'd have.
Suddenly, a letter flew in! It was addressed to Mr. H. Potter, The Cupboard.
Its words were strange: 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.' Harry was puzzled.
Uncle Vernon snatched the letter away, his face red with anger. 'No more nonsense!'
But more letters came. They flooded the house! Harry's heart raced with hope.
In a storm of letters, a giant man burst in. 'Happy birthday, Harry,' he boomed.
The giant man, Hagrid, explained everything. Harry was a wizard, and not alone.
Hagrid handed him a new letter. 'Yer going to learn real magic,' he smiled.
Harry felt an unfamiliar sensation - hope. He wasn't just the boy under the stairs.
Harry boarded the train to Hogwarts, waving goodbye to the Dursleys' frowns forever.
