Once upon a time, in the town of Sunnyside, lived a milkman named Mr. Greedycream. He loved milk, cheese, butter, and cream. But he loved the coins that came from selling them even more.
Mr. Greedycream drove his clunky cart, clinkity-clank, down Cobblestone Lane, delivering milk to everyone. But the milk he delivered only seemed half full!
One sunny morning, as the birds chirped, he muttered to himself, 'Why give them a full pour? I'll keep the extra and they'll ask for more!' And so, he didn't fill the bottles all the way to the top.
The townspeople started to notice, 'Hey! My milk is gone too soon!' they frowned.
But Mr. Greedycream just chuckled, 'More milk for me! Not for them!' he mumbled.
One day, wise old Mrs. Wisenoodle had a plan. 'I'll teach him a lesson, you'll see if I can!' She ordered her milk and waited.
She noticed her milk bottle was half full. 'Aha! He skimmed again!' she cried.
The next day, Mrs. Wisenoodle baked the smelliest, stinkiest cheese ever. 'For Mr. Greedycream!' she cheered.
She handed the cheese to Mr. Greedycream, 'A treat for you, dear,' she grinned. He took a big bite and his face turned green!
Chomp! Chomp! COUGH! 'What’s this?' he cried, 'I’ve been tricked!' He ran to the river to wash the taste away.
While he was away, the townspeople gathered. They filled their bottles to the brim with fresh, creamy milk.
From that day on, Mr. Greedycream learned to share fairly. And in Sunnyside, the milk was always sweet and full, just as it should be. The end.
