In a jungle not far and not near, lived a lion with a mighty cheer. His mane was gold, his roar was grand, but Lion Leo liked truth firsthand.
Leo ruled with a heart so true, but flattery made him quite blue. “Oh, you're so great! You’re the best!” left him feeling unimpressed.
One day, a zebra named Zippy came by, with a gleam and a twinkle in her eye. She said, “Leo, your mane is neat, but your roar is what can’t be beat!”
Leo smiled a toothy grin, for Zippy’s words were genuine. “I like your stripes,” Leo did say, “They’re as pretty as the sun’s first ray.”
The animals gathered all around, to hear this truth spreading sound. Parrot Perry, Monkey Moe, all listened to the friendly flow.
Monkey Moe munched on a mango, “Your roar, Leo, it surely does tango! But you know what I think is cool? It's your courage that rules the school.”
Parrot Perry squawked delight, “Leo, you shine like the moon at night. But what I adore the most in you, is your kindness oh so true.”
Leo’s heart filled up with glee, surrounded by this honesty. He roared a roar, strong and clear, a sound of joy for all to hear.
A wise old owl named Ollie said, “Leo, true words I choose instead. Flattery falls like leaves in fall, truth stands tall, above them all.”
From that day forth, the jungle knew, to flattery they’d bid adieu. Honest words were welcomed there, truth spread in the jungle air.
Leo’s heart was light and free, genuine liked by you and me. In a jungle, not far, not near, lived a lion with a mighty cheer.
So if you wander near or far, and hear a lion’s mighty roar. Know it’s Leo, pure and true, in a jungle, just for you.
