In an ancient Chinese village, a kind orphan boy, named Li, lives in a simple house.
Li finds a glowing snail and keeps it in a jar. From then on, hot meals appear mysteriously in his home.
Upon investigation, Li finds a celestial maiden emerging from the snail shell. She was sent to help him.
When the villagers discover the celestial maiden, she sadly leaves, but the snail shell remains, providing endless grain for the village.
