Once upon a time, in a sunny forest glen, lived a lively rabbit named Robbie and a mighty lion named Leo. Robbie loved to hop and skip, and Leo loved to roar and nap.
One bright morning, Robbie woke up with a wiggle and a giggle. He saw Leo yawning and stretching under a shady tree. 'Good morning, Leo!' said Robbie with a grin.
Leo looked down at the cheerful rabbit. 'Morning, Robbie,' he growled in a sleepy voice. 'What adventures do you have in mind today?'
Robbie twitched his nose and twirled his tail. 'How about a race through the forest? Last one to the big oak tree is a rotten carrot!' he said with a laugh.
Leo chuckled. 'A race? Against you? That's like apples and oranges! But alright, just for fun!' So off they went, ready for the race.
Robbie dashed fast as a flash, zipping past bushes and trees. Leo trundled along, taking his time, thinking, 'I can catch up later.'
After a short while, Robbie saw a babbling brook and decided to take a quick drink. 'A sip won't hurt,' he thought, as he lapped up the cool water.
Meanwhile, Leo trotted along steadily. He saw Robbie by the brook. 'Slow and steady wins the race,' Leo hummed to himself, keeping his big paws moving.
Robbie, fresh and spry, hopped back into action. He dashed and darted, zigged and zagged, feeling like a superhero! But he didn't see Leo was right behind.
As they neared the big oak tree, Leo let out a rumbling roar, shaking the leaves. Robbie turned, eyes wide, 'Oh no! The lion's almost here!'
With one last burst of speed, Robbie zipped ahead and touched the tree first. Leo arrived just a moment later, smiling wide. 'You did it, Robbie!'
'Hurray!' cheered Robbie, hopping up and down. Leo patted Robbie's fluffy head. 'Great race, my friend. Remember, it's not always about winning, but having fun.'
