One sunny morning, Kevin and Alexi found an old book. It was heavy with a rusty lock.
The book showed pictures of hot air balloons made of gears and steam. 'Let's build one!' said Kevin.
They gathered metal, cloth, and tools. They worked hard, using their hands and bright minds.
After many days, there stood a huge balloon. Its brass and copper shone in the sun.
Alexi was scared. 'What if we fall?' he asked. Kevin smiled, 'We'll be safe, I promise!'
The balloon hissed and steamed, and slowly, it lifted them up into the clear blue sky.
They flew over fields and rivers. Below, the world seemed so peaceful and small.
Alexi's fear turned to joy. 'This is amazing!' he shouted, laughter filling the air around them.
As the sun began to set, they saw animals preparing for night. 'Nature is beautiful,' Kevin whispered.
It grew colder, and they huddled together, sharing stories and warmth as stars twinkled above.
Finally, they steered the balloon back. They landed softly, their hearts full of wonder and bravery.
Back on the ground, they promised to have more adventures. 'The sky is just the beginning!' they exclaimed.
