Once upon a time, in a cozy little village, there lived a girl named Little Red Riding Hood. She always wore a red cloak with a hood, which made her look like a bright cherry in the forest.
One sunny morning, Little Red's mother said, 'Please take this basket of goodies to Grandma. She’s feeling a bit blue.' The basket was brimming with muffins, jam, and a big warm hug.
Skipping along the forest path, Little Red sang, ‘Tra-la-la, tra-la-lee, through the forest happily!’ The birds joined in with a cheerful tweet-tweet-tweet.
Suddenly, she met a wolf—not a big bad wolf, but a rather dapper one with a top hat and a bow tie. ‘Good day, dear Red. Where are you off to, in such a gleeful tread?’
‘To Grandma’s house I go,’ she said. ‘With muffins and jams, as she lay in bed.’ The wolf thought for a moment, his eyes twinkling like stars.
‘Why not pick some flowers along the way? They’ll surely brighten Grandma’s day!’ Red agreed, and off she went, picking daisies, tulips, and a lily-scent.
Meanwhile, the wolf, quick as a wink, ran ahead to Grandma's house. ‘Knock-knock,’ he said with a sly grin, hiding all hint of his mischievous sin.
Grandma, sensing the sly trick, hid in the closet quick. The wolf slipped into bed, wearing Grandma’s nightcap on his head.
When Little Red at last arrived, she said, ‘Oh, what big eyes you have!’ ‘All the better to see you, my sweetie pie,’ the wolf slyly replied.
‘Oh, what big ears you have!’ ‘All the better to hear you, dear.’ ‘Oh, what sharp teeth you have!’ Now that was a thing to fear!
Just then, Grandma burst from the closet with a broom in hand, ‘Out, out, you troublesome band!’ The wolf dashed away with a yelp and a scamper, leaving behind his mischievous glamour.
Grandma, Little Red, and the villagers gathered round, laughing at the wolf’s swift retreat. And they celebrated with muffins and jam, making their day complete!
