Once upon a time, a small boy named Nick had just moved to a new town. Nick had brown hair and blue eyes. He was feeling very alone.

Nick sat on the swing in the park, kicking the dirt beneath him. He missed his old friends.

A friendly girl with curly red hair and green eyes named Lisa saw Nick sitting alone. She decided to say hello.

"Hi, I'm Lisa! What's your name?" Lisa asked with a big smile.

"Hi, I'm Nick," he replied shyly. He was surprised someone talked to him.

"Do you want to play with me?" Lisa asked kindly. Nick nodded and smiled back.

They ran to the slides and took turns climbing and sliding down. Nick felt happy again.

"I live just around the corner. Do you want to come over for lunch?" Lisa asked.

Nick nodded. Lisa's mom made sandwiches, and they had a picnic in the backyard.

They ate under a big tree. Lisa's dog, a small brown puppy, joined them.

Nick realized he was no longer alone. He had made a new friend. "Thank you," he said.

Lisa smiled. "Friends forever," she said. And they were.
