Once upon a time, in a small town called Snottsville, there lived a young boy named Oliver Cooke. Oliver was a happy and energetic 10-year-old, always full of joy and laughter. But one day, he fell ill and became a snot producing machine!
Oliver had caught a nasty cold and his nose was running non-stop. Every time he sniffed or blew his nose, a green and gooey mess would come out. It was quite a sight, and Oliver's daddy was both amazed and disgusted.
One morning, Oliver's daddy decided to take him out for some fresh air, hoping it would help him feel better. They strolled through the park, with Oliver sniffing and sniffling all the way.
As they walked, Oliver's daddy handed him his freshly washed handkerchief. Oliver blew his nose, and to his surprise, the snot didn't just disappear. It got all over the handkerchief!
Oliver's daddy couldn't help but cringe and exclaimed, 'Oh my, Oliver! That's quite a lot of snot you've got there!' Oliver giggled and said, 'I'm sorry, Daddy. I guess I'm a snot machine!'
They continued their walk, with Oliver using the handkerchief to wipe his nose whenever he needed to. But the more he used it, the more snot ended up on it. Oliver's daddy saw this as a perfect opportunity to teach Oliver about addition.
